A basque or bustier is a bust to hip corset-like garment, usually trimmed in lace. Other features can include detachable garters, flexible boning, shoulder straps and lace up closing. "Bustier" is more commonly an American term. To avoid over complicating matters, all Bustiers are classified as "Basques" at Seven Lingerie.
